The tinsel town of Mumbai is one place where careers get made or destroyed every Friday. But as there are exceptions to everything, Bollywood is no different. There is no dearth of talent in Bollywood but there have been only a handful of actors who have managed to rise above the intoxicating wait for a Friday to see where their career is moving. They are so big or popular that even the box-office result of their films does not seem to affect their star-power. And one of the biggest names even in that shortened list is Salman Khan! Salman Khan is probably the only star in Bollywood who can make all the other stars dance to his tune. And when he decides to come out all guns blazing in a new avatar, you just cannot help but get mesmerized by his screen presence and his films end up amassing a fortune! Born Abdul Rashid Salim Salman Khan, he started his career in the 1988 film Biwi Ho Toh Aisi. The film was moderately successful. He then starred in Maine Pyar Kiya as the main lead which went on to become a blockbuster and catapulted Salman Khan to instant stardom. And since then he has not looked back. He has some of the biggest Bollywood movies to his name over the years like Saajan, Hum Aapke Hain Koun, Karan Arjun, Judwaa, Pyar Kiya Toh Darna Kya, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, Tere Naam, Mujhse Shaadi Karogi, No Entry, Partner, Wanted, Dabangg, Ready, Bodyguard and Ek Tha Tiger. His films have not only tasted commercial success but many of them have also been critically acclaimed. His performances in movies like Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam and Tere Naam have been highly lauded by critics and masses alike. Salman Khan starrer Hum Aapke Hain Koun was the first film to cross the Rs.100 crore mark in Bollywood. His films over the years have appeared in the highest grossing film of the year at 8 different occasions, a record that is still unbroken. And the fact that 3 of the top five highest grossing Bollywood films of all times are his, says for Salman's star power itself. Salman was born on 27 December, 1965, and as per numerology, his ruling number is 9. People with ruling number 9 are quite flexible and they love to be challenged as it motivates them to go beyond their usual self and come out with flying colours. They also tend to be quite impulsive by nature, a trait pretty evident in Salman. However, their zeal for life sometimes tend to cloud their vision and their sense of judgment and as a result, they run into trouble. The only way out of it was to be compassionate and tolerant. Numerology also suggests that individuals having ruling number 9 have a very keen civic sense and they find solace in helping the less fortunate. This is one quality that has made Salman so popular among the masses over the years. His NGO Being Human is a very popular one and work towards helping the cause of the underprivileged, with the primary focus on Education and Healthcare. He even launched his own production house called Salman Khan Being Human Productions and the money generated through his production house will be donated to his NGO. Salman also features in Madame Tussauds wax museum in London, a highly prestigious place to be in. So, it is not just his movies, but his philanthropic work as well which has made Salman Khan the megastar that he is today. And if his recent successes were anything to be believed in, Salman's fortunes are not dipping anytime soon. What's more, Salman Khan is planning to wrap up 2012 with the final release of the year, Dabangg 2! Do I need to say anymore???
